On Christmas Day and during the week end Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Scarlett will have as their guests their family, Misses Josie and Belva, of Chatham; Miss Jean, of Windsor, and Mr. and Mrs. Glen Scarlett, of Romeo, Mich.

Loren H. Scarlett Family
Loren H. Scarlett (1863-1933) was born near Ridgetown and moved to Florence where he was a painter and decorator. Loren married Agnes Laird (1870-1952), daughter of Alfred and Elizabeth (Dockrill) Laird, in 1892. They attended Florence United Church were Agnes played the organ. Loren played bass with a quartet in Ridgetown. The couple had five children.
Josie Scarlett (1894-1995) married Willis Gibson. She taught school in Euphemia before her marriage and later worked at the Chatham Public Library. Glenn (1897-1985) married Leda Ferguson. They lived in Michigan before moving to St. Thomas where he operated a nursery and landscaping business. They have one daughter, Joanne, who is a church organist like her grandmother. Jean (1901-1962) married Gordon McEachran and moved to Chatham. Belva (1903) married R. Ross McGee and lived in Chatham and then Sarnia. She is currently living in the Vision Nursing Home, Sarnia. They did not have any children. Mildred (1906-1996) married Edwin Richardson. He taught at Florence Continuation School and boarded with the Scarletts. When the school closed they moved to Wheatley and then Leamington. Their children were James and Jean. Jean is a high school teacher in Kitchener.
