Obituary, Leamington Post, 8 October 1955:
Mrs. E. J. Story, Cottom, Passes - Mrs. Emma Jane Store, longtime resident of the Cottam district, died early Sunday in Riverview Hospital, Windsor. She was in her 81st year.
     Born in Bowmanville, Mrs. Story came to Cottam as a girl and had resided here since that time. She had been in ill health for a number of years. Her husband, Francis C. Story, died in 1906.
     Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Reginald Anderson, of Windsor; Mrs. Norman Simpson, of Detroit; two sons, William Story, of Cottam; Harold Story, of Windsor; two sisters, Mrs. William Knight; Mrs. Roy Allison, of Blenheim; seven grandchildren.
     Services were held Monday afternoon at the Dodson and Habkirk funeral home, Essex, with Rev. Frank Gilbert officiating. Interment was in Cottam cemetery.
