Richard Dobbyn (1794-1883) was educated in Dublin, Ireland and taught school. On April 20, 1815, he married Maria Bobier (1796-1869). The Catholics had confiscated his father's estate, so the young couple decided to come to Canada... Richard and Maria had 13 children, eight of whom lived to adulthood...
John Dobbyn was the eldest in the family (1820-1911). He married Jane Laird and they farmed at Lot 24, Con 2 until moving to Manitoba in 1882...
