Thomas was the first Moorhouse to settle in Euphemia. Thomas and Jane had 11 children: John, William, Henry, Joseph and Thomas were all born in Ireland. The family's six daughters were Ann, Jane, Eliza, Sara, Maria and Susannah.

Sara (1819-1912) resided on the old homestead. She raised Wilbert and Charlie, her brother Thomas' children, after his wife died at the age of 34 years...

Thomas Moorhouse Family
Thomas Moorhouse (1816-1865) and his wife Esther Ann Goss (1821-1855), who was born in Raleigh Township, lived at Lot 25, Con. 2. Esther Ann, who married Thomas in 1846, was a sister of Winnifred Goss, who married Thomas' brother Henry. Thomas and Esther Ann had four children.
John Charles (1851-1935) married Hannah Johnston and they lived on a farm next to the bridge at Shetland. John Charles occupied the north part of the same Lot 25, Con. 2 until 1908 when it was sold to Milton Dobbyn. The original log house built on the north part of the lot was still in use in 1869. It was replaced with a frame house, which still stands...
Georgina married Alfred Purdy. Thomas Hopkins married Elsie Fansher. Wilbert (1854-1905) lived on the south part of Lot 25, Con. 2 with his wife Jane Johnston (1860-1926), who was a sister of John Charles' wife Hannah. They had two children: Sara (1876) and Edwin Melville (1882-1965). Edwin took over the farm and lived there with his wife Edith Eliza Osborne (1885-1963) and children Wilbert Judson "Jud" (1910-1991) and Evelyn Marie (1912-1913)...
