Alfred Scarlett, 12th concession, Howard, passed away Tue. afternoon after a short illness, aged 87 years. He was born on the same farm on which he died, and spent his whole life there, being numbered among the earliest pioneers and being, perhaps, the oldest resident born in the township. He leaves one son, Edward Scarlett, and two daughters, Mrs. G. A. Watson, Ridgetown, and Mrs. Jas. McCummins, Howard.
