Obituary, Leamington Post, 14 November 1907:
Early Settler Passed Away - Mrs. Dorothy A. Wilkinson Died at the Advanced Age of 90 years. Mrs. Dorothy Wilkinson, one of the oldest of the surviving members of that generation which turned Essex county forest into smiling farms, passed away on Friday last, Nov. 8th, at the ripe old age of over 90 years. She was the widow of John A. Wilkinson, who died 30 years ago, and who at one time owned most of the land north of Talbot st, where Leamington now stands. Mrs. Wilkinson was the daughter of Thos Wiper, one of the early settlers in Mersea township and whose descendants are among the most respected families of the county... Five children survive her - Minnis Wilkinson, town; Frank and Nelson, Chicago; Mrs. Jane Mifflin, Glenwood; and Mrs. Anne Stockwell, Gore Hill...
