Bury Notes and Anecdotes by J. M. Warwick, U.E., Lambton Settlers Series Volume 2, More Early Days Along the St. Clair, published by the Lambton Branch of the OGS (These articles were originally published in 1948-1949 as part of the Lambton Centennial Series in the Sarnia Observer):
John Darling Bury...married in 1830 in Howard township (now in Kent County) Martha Green...
...Later he emigrated to Benton township, Berrien County, in Michigan. After the death of his first wife there, he married Fannie Byers on August 16, 1860. By her he had three more children, again two sons and a daughter, Clellan Byers Bury, born June 17, 1862; John Darling Bury Jr., born 12 May, 1864; and Elsie Italia Bury, born 23 December, 1865. Elsie Italia Bury still resides near Benton Harbour in Michigan, as do the children of her two brothers.
John D. Bury III is occupant of the family's original Benton township property. His son John D. Bury IV is the fifth John Bury in direct descent, John Colbrook Bury being the first.
