John Darling Bury...married in 1830 in Howard township (now in Kent County) Martha Green, daughter of Freeman Green. She was born August 24, 1810...
By this first wife, John Darling Bury had two sons and one daughter, Freeman Bury, George Bury and Elizabeth Bury, later Mrs. Caldwell. Descendants of Freeman Bury and Elizabeth Caldwell are residents of Berrien County, Michigan.

In 1830 John Darling Bury married Martha Green, daughter of Freeman Green of Lot 27, south side of Talbot Street in Howard township, adjoining Orford township in the west. Their three children, Freeman Green Bury, George Bury and Elizabeth Bury (Mrs. Joseph Caldwell) were born at Clearville...Early in 1835 he and Martha Green and their three children moved to St. Joseph [Michigan] and in 1837 moved to a farm in nearby Berrien township...
