According to David Botsford's records, Mary died in childhood - however, I found a Mary J. Tofflemire, aged 16, born in Canada, listed on the 1860 census for Wayne Co., Mich. She was a housekeeper in the family of Henry Leighton also born in Canada. Dot Zak found, in the marriage records of Wayne Co., Mich., the marriage of Mary Jane Tofflemire and Percy Barclay Leighton both of Colchester. The marriage was performed 13 Apr. 1869. Mary was aged 23, Percy was ages 31, Perry was the son of Henry Leighton.
