Samuel Hickmott Obituary Leamington Post 12-1-1910 pg 1:
After being confined to bed for only a couple of days, Samuel Hickmott of 4th Con., Gosfield S., died on Monday last of heart trouble in the 78th year of his age. Mr.Hickmott was born in Prescott, Ont., and came to Essex county when but a small boy, and has lived in Gosfield South ever since. His wife, Catharine Sanford, who was a sister of Messrs William, Peter and Prideau Sanford, predeceased him 17 years ago. The surviving children are William of Leamington, Mrs. Abrose Lockwood of 3rd Con., Gosfield South, Hiram in British Columbia, Edward of the 4th Con., Gosfield South, Mrs. Alex. Ryall of Alberta, Mrs. Ernest Ryall of Gosfield South, Mrs. Hubert Squires of Olinda, Mrs. McDiarmaid of Denver Colorado. Deceased also leaves the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. Eliza Orton, 6th Con., Gosfield North, Mrs. Jacob Wigle, Kingsville, Mrs. Lydia Long of Anderdon Township, and John Hickmott, Gosfield South. The funeral took place Nov. 22nd to Olinda cemetery -- Reporter.
