Gone to Rest - On Wednesday, Sept. 17th Mrs. Ann Stockwell, Leamington, passed away in her 75th year. Her maiden name was Ann Wilkinson. She was the eldest child of Johh J. and Dorothy Wilkinson, and was born on the corner where J. E. Davies store now stands. She married John W. Stockwell and leaves eight children to mourn the loss of a dear and loving mother. The children are, Mrs. Geo. Massender of Wheatley, Ont., Carson of Pontiac, Mich., Burton of Pines, Nelson of Huron, Ohio, Charles and Millie of Columbiaville, Mich., Beecher of Owoso, Mich., and John of Millington, Mich. She died at the home of her youngest daughter, Mrs. Leonard Hickson, Columbiaville, Mich., where she made it her home for the past two years. Everything was done to keep her with us but God knew best and took her home where there will be no more pain. She was a true christian. She joined the M. E. church when she was a child of 15 years and was loved by all who knew her.

Obituary, Leamington Post, 14 November 1907:
Early Settler Passed Away - Mrs. Dorothy A. Wilkinson Died at the Advanced Age of 90 years. Mrs. Dorothy Wilkinson, one of the oldest of the surviving members of that generation which turned Essex county forest into smiling farms, passed away on Friday last, Nov. 8th, at the ripe old age of over 90 years. She was the widow of John A. Wilkinson, who died 30 years ago, and who at one time owned most of the land north of Talbot st, where Leamington now stands. Mrs. Wilkinson was the daughter of Thos Wiper, one of the early settlers in Mersea township and whose descendants are among the most respected families of the county. Mr. Wiper's farm was on the north side of Talbot st. about a mile east of town. She was the eldest of the family and was a very young child when her father moved to this country. Her brothers and sisters living are - Henry Wiper, in town, Francis on Talbot st., Robert on Talbot st., Mrs. Wm. Dresser, con. 5, Mersea, Mrs. Richard Rushlow, town, Mrs. Michael Malott, Talbot st. Five children survive her - Minnis Wilkinson, town; Frank and Nelson, Chicago; Mrs. Jane Mifflin, Glenwood; and Mrs. Anne Stockwell, Gore Hill. There is a number of grandchildren, several of whom are living in Michigan. For some years Mrs. Wilkinson had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Mifflin of Glenwood, but came here a few weeks ago to visit some of her children, and was staying with her grand-daughter, Mrs. Geo Messender. She was very active and intelligent and had the possession of all her faculties till about four weeks previous to her death when she received a fall which seriously injured her and shortened a life that seemed likely to pass the century mark. Her removal breaks one of the only two instances known in Ontario of five generations being photographed in a group, the persons in this case being the Mrs. Wilkinson, her daughter, Mrs. Anne Stockwell, grand-daughter Mrs. Messender, great-grand-daughter, Mrs. Jos. Hillman and the latter's little boy. The deceased was a life-long member of the Methodist church. Owing to Gore Hill church being under repair the funeral services were held at Leamington church, by Rev. Jasper Wilson and Rev. J. Hunter on Monday afternoon. The interment being at Lakeview.
